At the first meeting I attended about the I-49 Connector, my neighborhood was called “disinvested” by DOTD and One Acadiana. That was three years after I first moved into Sterling Grove. The remnants of this demolished house, owned by DOTD, were removed in January of this year, after blocking the sidewalk with debris for months.

Leah Graeff is an artist and teacher. She specializes in film-based photography and printmaking.
