Coronavirus is not the only concern this year. Alabama Department of Health medical officer Wes Stubblefield warns of a “tripledemic” as two other respiratory illnesses are circulating around, too — influenza and the highly contagious respiratory syncytial virus, better known as RSV. Stubblefield said the age group most affected by the flu has been 5-24 year-olds.

Cassidy announced his decision Friday morning as promised, choosing to remain in the Senate to leverage his growing seniority and influence during his second six-year term, which he won in 2020. On Thursday Cassidy announced he will be the top Republican on the U.S. Senate Health Committee.

School officials most recently sold its central warehouse space as part of its property sale at 113 Chaplin Drive to the Lafayette Airport Commission but has been since leasing the space until it could find a permanent space.
