Link to Landry asks for pause in hiring UL System president – Louisiana Illuminator (opens in new window)

Grambling State University President Rick Gallot was expected to take over as the University of Louisiana System president Jan. 1. But with only a few days remaining in the year, the UL System board has not extended him a contract offer.

Gov.-elect Jeff Landry indicated, in an interview with reporters Wednesday, he wants to talk to both the board and Gallot before the deal is finalized.

Link to St. Martin Parish Government will continue suit against LCG in spoil banks case (opens in new window)

Outgoing St. Martin Parish President Chester Cedars said this week the parish’s suit against LCG will continue under his successor’s administration.

The lawsuit was filed over a drainage project done in St. Martin Parish by LCG contractors who removed spoil banks. The project also resulted in federal and state investigations.
