Lafayette Parish School Systems continues to solicit feedback for its strategic planning process, convened this year to guide the district’s decisions about facilities and programs.
The school system contracted Civic Solutions Group to develop the strategic plan and organize community feedback. CSG conducted feedback sessions at Acadiana High, Northside High and Southside High schools earlier this summer and is still collecting input with more sessions in the works.

Moving gifted instruction and the French immersion program to other schools in the district are among the options expected to come before the Lafayette Parish School Board.
LPSS faces significant headwinds, including aging school buildings and under-enrollment. Combined with budget constraints, those challenges were among the factors LPSS officials cited in moving programs from Paul Breaux Middle School. Superintendent Francis Touchet has signaled other dramatic changes or even school closures could be on the table.
