We are thrilled to announce the 2024 class of Wavemakers, local doers we honor at the Undercurrent Awards.
They are:

- Daniel Barousse, Barousse Works
- Cecil Doyle, KRVS
Wavemakers are people who make a real difference in Lafayette but often go unnoticed. They’re found in every corner of our community, working in schools, civic spaces, healthcare, business and more. What they have in common is that they move our community forward.
This year’s class, our fourth, were selected from a pool of 75 nominees by a panel of The Current’s leadership and previous honorees.
Save the date! This year’s Undercurrent Awards, hosted by David Begnaud of CBS News, will be held Nov. 13 at Acadiana Center for the Arts. Tickets go on sale in early October.
