Lafayette feels lost to some and found to others. National headlines have been, let’s say, unflattering. Maybe you think the scrutiny is unfair. The reality is we’ve been thrust into the spotlight and forced to squint. 

Social unrest, divisive politics, dueling realities, cultural warfare have defined our last year. And that’s stacked on some serious generational questions before us, like what comes after the oil and gas industry?

“Lafayette is not this,” a story in The Advocate reads, suggesting the spate of bad press doesn’t accurately reflect the soul of the city.
