Local comedian Just-Cris Lazard talks on his family, his sunny disposition and his ongoing battle with cancer.
Q: Can you tell us a little about yourself?
A: I’m a 33-year-old father of four beautiful daughters, a writer, actor, comedian and stage play director. A God-fearing man, I love God. He has definitely been good to me. I’m what you call tall, dark and country. With a pinch of handsome.
Q: What is it like being a comedian in Lafayette?
A: Nothing is better than a Lafayette crowd; they are so loving and supportive. I love Louisiana.
Q: What inspires you in your battle with cancer?
A: My wife and kids are my inspiration. My daughters always ask me, “Daddy, are you famous yet?”
Q: How did you decide you wanted to be a comedian?
A: I didn’t choose this life; it chose me. When I was younger, I was bullied a lot; being able to laugh was always like an escape from the pain. But I’m grown now, and I can fight. 🙂

Q: What would you like others to know about you and your comedy?
A: My comedy is clean enough for the whole family to enjoy. I perform in church and everywhere else. And my comedy comes from my heart.
Q: Where can locals see your stand up?
A: Anywhere there is a mic, I’ll most likely be performing.
Q: If you could go back in time and meet one person, who would it be?
A: I would like to meet myself and tell myself to save some money, make better decisions. And please don’t buy a Dodge vehicle.
