Rededicating CREATE — Conceived by former Mayor-President Joel Robideaux, CREATE is a parishwide initiative to invest public dollars in Lafayette’s cultural economy. It’s been dormant under the current administration. This ballot proposition would rededicate the .25-mill property tax to two functions: fire protection in rural Lafayette Parish (.175 mills) and parish road and bridges (.075 mills).
