Conversation: Is Lafayette a vibrant community?

What does it mean to have a vibrant community? A cool downtown? Great parks and recreation? A strong business sector? Access to opportunity? All of the above?

It’s a question communities everywhere grapple with, and Lafayette is no different — especially as it goes through a major economic transition.

This week, One Acadiana hosts the Vibrant Community Summit. The event’s facilitator, Quint Studer, made a name for himself in advocating for quality of life investments that helped revitalize Pensacola, Fla., his home town. The Studer Community Institute emphasizes early childhood education, civic engagement and investing in small businesses as the key ingredients for success. And it appears to have worked for Pensacola.
